A Love Story set at the start of World WarII when love between women was forbidden.
Twenty-Five-year-old Gerda Miller was at a low point in her life. Things just weren’t working out for her. Losing her job at the start of World War II and losing her apartment, Gerda lost hope. The only thing that had kept Gerda from completely falling apart was her friendship with store owner, Anna Spinelli. Anna and her brother owned the local grocery store and were always kind to her. She finds hope with these two people and her entire world turns around in an instant. Gerda finds herself with a job at the store and place to live. Anna’s brother Thomas is going off to war which made the job available to Gerda. The women form a close relationship of working and living together while Gerda hides her crush on the woman that had captivated her years ago.
The women have men pursue them, but neither woman is interested. Both hiding their feelings from each other, it seems hopeless that they will ever get together. It takes a push from Gerda’s friend Peter to push the women in the right direction.
It seems like everything is falling into place for Gerda and Anna, but fate has other ideas. Anna’s brother comes back from the war injured and Gerda’s brother returns from the Merchant Marine with a pregnant wife.
Life has other plans for Gerda and Anna. Come share their lives to see what life has in store for them.

ANNA'S LOVE A Lesbian Romance edition by Lydia Rose Literature Fiction eBooks

Lydia Rose presents a variety of settings for her novels. I eagerly await the new release each month. With a fast throughput, I expect some errors but will gracefully forgive them in order to enjoy new stories so quickly. This story crossed ethnic, socioeconomic, and societal boundaries attempting to keep our couple apart. It is a quick couple of hour diversion from more stressful concerns. While not her best work, I found it entertaining and would recommend it. I look forward to the next release.

ANNA'S LOVE A Lesbian Romance edition by Lydia Rose Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I like Lydia Rose's works because they are simple and sweet and a really about the love two people can have for each other. Sometimes you just need a read like that. I can't say this is my favorite of her work but I liked it just the same. Fans will enjoy it and anyone else that wants a break from complexity )
I have always enjoyed Lydia Rose books and am an avid follower. Not looking for "the great literary novel" here just enjoyable reading from someone who has a story to tell..Wish I could write like most of the Indie writers!
I really enjoyed this story, a cautious yet brave tale of two women in love. When the characters were first introduced it appeared that Gerda would be the stronger of the two, with all of the hardships and sacrifices she had to endure, yet as the story progressed it was Anna who demonstrated the strength and courage to hold true to her feelings for no one but Gerda.

This was nice shorter story yet with depth, the secondary characters coming in and out of the lives of Anna and Gerda and making a true impact towards the enjoyment of the story for the reader.
This book is boring. There is no tension in the story which always adds an interesting dimension to the story and the characters. It is simplistic in writing, storyline, and character development. The author's earlier works were better constructed and more interesting. And details matter. The author notes the lead character doesn't work on Sunday. Yet, when she hurries to work, she learns that the Pearl Harbor bombing has just occurred - and Dec 7, 1941 was a Sunday. If you cite a fact, research it.

The author has demonstrated her considerable writing talents in earlier works. Books by that Lydia Rose are the ones I want to read.
I truly enjoyed the story of Gerda and her journey to find love with Anna. I felt for them during the early parts of them realizing how they had feelings for one another, and the fact that the war was beginning and that would change everything for both Anna and Gerda. With circumstances changing for Gerda financially, how would she survive during this time. Anna was also realizing how her brother going off to war, would affect the store and her life. This time would hopefully allow them to explorer their feelings. I found it wonderful that the women in their lives saw nothing but love, but at the same time it was sad that Anna's brother was unable to see the love Gerda and Anna had for each other just cause they were women. Life has a funny way of having us see what is important to us and allows us to realize that sometimes the most important thing when you find love is to hold onto it no matter what.
I so want to like this but, after all this time, Lydia Rose is still writing like it is her first book. She tells but rarely shows. Her opening pages have so little action that it's hard to keep my attention fixated.I kept reading because I like her ideas but if, after this many years, her skills are still so underdeveloped, I can't imagine myself continuing to read her works. Read the sample. If you feel that is good writing, please continue. I used to hope to see a very promising voice develop into true talent but this is my last time reading her works. I just can't anymore. The books are practically the same as far as plot and characters, and her rambling, tell, tell, tell style is just not what I am looking for. There's an editor? Why has her editor not explained to Lydia that there's a thing called action, and to use it? I am guessing because the editor is her partner, and slightly biased. (Based on the books being always dedicated to her wife Holly and Holly being the editor listed.)

To add to that, as a very avid reader of historical romance I would add that there are a lot of historical inaccuracies in here. Ms. Rose, simple research would have prevented that. This is not the first time either. In a previous book Ms. Rose obviously didn't even research the setting before writing it and got it very wrong. And it is the straw that just broke this camel's (READER'S) back.
Is it just me, or Miss Rose haven't published any since May?
