What can I say? Samantha Cole has done it again! This is an amazing novella introducing us to the members of the Omega Team of Trident Security in depth for the first time. It is truly the beginning of the Omega Team's story. It's thrilling and will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.The seven men and women comprising the Omega Team of Trident Security are ready for their final shakedown mission to determine if they're ready to operate on their own. They've been training together with both the Alpha Team and Trident Security West for months and now they finally have their chance to prove themselves as a team. Their mission: dropping into a sparsely-populated area of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with minimal equipment and rations. They must make it through the harsh, unforgiving terrain with a single satellite phone for use in emergencies only (broken bones don't count) and they have a limited amount of time to accomplish this mission.
The Omega Team has no sooner been dropped from their helicopter and left on their own when the first hiccup in their mission is discovered. A local hiker has gone missing with no evidence as to what happened to her. It's as if she vanished from the face of the earth. There's no trace of her anywhere. The leader of the Alpha Team, Ian "Boss-Man" Sawyer contacts the team and tells them of the hiker situation but informs them they are to still remain on mission. It's a sticky situation and the Omega Team must become the cohesive unit they've trained to be in order to succeed. Can this team work together not only to complete their mission on time but to find and rescue the missing hiker? The stakes are high and the unknown factors even higher!
During the course of the mission, you learn the backstory of each individual member of the Omega Team. If you've read the entire Trident Security series, you've met the Omega Team members before but you've never learned exactly how they were recruited for the Omega Team and what their motivations are for being a part of the elite Trident Security Company. To say that each individual character is fascinating is an understatement. Each has his or her own unique reason for being a part of this unit. They all have their demons but they're all equally dedicated to succeed. Failure is not an option for any member of the Omega Team.
This book is full of unexpected twists and turns. It held my attention from the very first word and, quite frankly, I couldn't put the book down! I stayed up all night to finish it because I had to know how the story was going to end. Samantha Cole, with her background in law enforcement and her absolute attention to detail in every aspect of every book she writes, is a superb storyteller and her work is riveting. It is very evident from the caliber of her writing that she researches whatever subject matter she might not have personal experience with until she is as conversant with that material as the experts she obviously consults. I'm an admitted bibliophile and have read just about every genre of fiction out there and I do not exaggerate when I say that Samantha Cole is one of the very best authors I have ever read.
As an aside, the entire Trident Security series (including the novellas/short stories) include a significant amount of BDSM lifestyle activities. There is a minimal amount of BDSM included in this novella but the activities of The Covenant (the very exclusive and private BDSM club co-owned by Ian, Devon and Mitch Sawyer) are part of the ongoing story brought forward from the prior books in the series. While each book in the series can be read as a standalone book, I would highly recommend that you read each book of the Trident Security series in order, including the novellas, so as not to miss any of the recurring characters and their roles in the series. And while some of you who may have read Ms. Cole's previous books Trident series might be thinking, "Oh no, minimal BDSM? How disappointing," please don't. The BDSM elements are there and will be continued going forward in this series. This book is every bit as wonderful as the previous books in this series and I would HIGHLY recommend it.
One final note before I close. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and some adult sexual scenes. As previously indicated, the BDSM aspects of this book are limited when compared to the other books in this series. If you do not enjoy thriller/mysteries with erotic romance and sexual scenes then please carefully consider your purchase before starting this entire series. PLEASE DO NOT BUY AND/OR REVIEW THE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES IF YOU DON'T ENJOY THIS GENRE AS IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE AUTHOR! She works hard to provide a quality work product and if you know before you purchase any book that you will object to the subject matter contained in the book, you will be doing not only yourself, but the author, an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

Mountain of Evil Trident Security Omega Team Prequel edition by Samantha A Cole Judi Perkins Eve Arroyo Romance eBooks Reviews
This novella is introducing us to the Trident Security Omega Team. They are seven of the 'Best of the Best'. In this book we get to know who they are, an insight into their backgrounds and their strengths. I'm really looking forwarded to getting to know these team members more in depth in future books.
On a training mission they are dropped by helicopter to a remote are of the Rocky Mountains and the objective is for them to work as a team to hike out of there.
While there they are notified that there is a missing hiker, Mallory Hart and the intrigue begins.
I really like that we get to Mallory's story along with the Omega team members. It just made it so 'real'. I was really scared for her.
This book doesn't have the sizzling sex in it that is so amazing in the Trident Security books but I did not miss it. I was really drawn into the suspense and the intrigue of this book. I absolutely loved it.
Drum roll please…Samantha A Cole has unveiled a new spin-off series to the Trident Security series. This totally has me excited because that means that there are more chances for hot alpha, dominant men and suspenseful stories that I’ve come to know and love. Samantha A Cole has become one of my very favorite authors and is an auto-buy for me.
This new series is about the Trident Omega team which is composed of 6 men and 1 woman. Their boss, Ian comes along as well as wife Angie, for their final training exercise in this novella. We also have Mallory Hart. She’s hiking up in the mountains and taking photos. She’s about to leave when she runs into big trouble.
The Omega team, led by Cade “Shades” Forester and Tristan “Duracell” McCabe are dropped off in the middle of the wilderness for 2 days. They have to make their way back to the extraction point with minimal supplies. But their training exercise turns into a dangerous rescue mission. Will they rescue Mallory before the bad guys hurt her?
Despite the fact this was a prequel, it was chock full of suspense, and even though we don’t get a romance out of this one, we do get some private sexy time with Ian and Angie. I loved it! And Cowboy’s (Logan) book is next. He’ll need a strong, compassionate woman to help him with his PTSD and just love him while submitting. (I’ll do it!!)
This looks to be an awesome series!
I didn't know what to expect with this book. It is a prequel to a spin off of the Trident Security series. This book is not one with a HEA but it is a background book.
I loved it. While we have seen each of the the characters in other books we didn't have a good sense of who they were until now. Mountain of Evil takes each characters and gives a brief look into where they are coming from, gives us some of the most pressing issues, and shows us where we are likely to go. Samantha did such a good job of giving us this sneak peak that will keep us coming back for more.
There may have been no HEA but there was plenty of other things that Samantha is known for and she did a great job. Samantha has quickly risen to be one of my favorite authors and one I definitely one-click when she has something new.
